Itinerary

4 days Fes to Marrakech Desert Tour

Day 1Fez - Atlas Mountains - Tiz'n Talghomt - Errachidia - Merzouga Desert

Welcome to Morocco! our 4 days trip starts with an early departure from Fez to Merzouga via the Middle Atlas Mountains. Enjoy a nice drive through Berber villages. Stop in the beautiful city of Ifrane (known as “Moroccan Switzerland “), continue to Azrou, the famous cedar forest where you can see the monkeys, and pause in Midelt city, where you can have lunch. After lunch, we continue to Erfoud through Ziz Valley (a nice panoramic view with the scenery of the oasis). On the drive from Arfoud to the dunes, you will see some nomadic Berber tribes. Arrive in Merzouga, where the camels are waiting for you for an adventurous ride to see and admire the magical moment of the sunset. You will enjoy your dinner with Berber folklore in the open air and you will sleep in a traditional Berber tent. Arrive in Merzouga and stay overnight in an Auberge.

Day 2Explore Merzouga area – Erg Chebbi - Camel Trek and Night at Desert Camp

Today will be the most memorable of the 4 days Sahara desert trip, After breakfast, you will visit Merzouga, the pride of southern Morocco, discovering the wonderful oasis, local villages, traditional music, and beautiful dunes. After relaxing, head back to the Auberge. You will go for a camel ride and go on an adventure in the sand dunes. You will spend the night in an equipped camp with drum music in the middle of the Erg Chebbi (Sahara), where you can take lovely pictures of the sunset. When we arrive at the camp, we climb the high dunes to see the sunset and spend the night in a nomad tent.

Day 3Merzouga - Todgha Gorge - Dades Gorges

This morning, you’ll rise with the sun to witness what we hope is a spectacular sunrise among the dunes. This is truly worthwhile and is what our Morocco desert tours are all about! We return by camels to a local hotel, following breakfast and a quick shower, we start our trip towards Ouarzazate, passing Tinjdad, visiting Todgha Gorge, the highest oasis valley gorges in Morocco. We continue to Boumalene Dades where we will visit Dades Gorges and we stay here overnight for dinner and accommodation hotel.

Day 4Dades Gorges - Ouarzazate - Ait ben Haddou - High Atlas - Marrakech

As today marks the end of the 4 days trip but the most vivid memory of today will be Ait Ben Haddou, the road takes you in the direction of Ouarzazate, the Hollywood of Africa, where the Atlas Studios is reputed to be one of the largest movie studios in the world. Although many of our travelers opt not to visit the film studio, the Kasbah de Taorirt in town is worth a stop. Then we will visit Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO world heritage site, which, as well as being the best extant example in the area of a walled town protected by Kasbahs, the homes of the wealthy and powerful, has been the backdrop to many Hollywood blockbusters and major historical television programs, including Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. If you are a fan of A Game of Thrones you will recognize Ait Ben Haddou from the final scene of series three. (The series has used a number of locations including Essaouira.) We continue our trip crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the highest road pass in Morocco called Tizni Tichka pass at 2260 meters. It offers impressive views of valleys, mountains and many Berber villages nearby. Arrival in the evening to Marrakech and end of the 4-day desert tour from Fes to desert and Marrakech.
The 4 days Sahara desert tour from Fes to Marrakech will be coming to an end! We do truly hope you enjoyed the trip with our team!
