The 2 days desert tour from Marrakech to Zagora is the average yet perfect for those who are short on time and wish to seize the opportunity to get introduced to the ideal Sahara desert experience. In this 2 days from Marrakech gives you the opportunity to pass the high Atlas Mountains, admire the stunning views of Draa Valley and its palms groves; visit the UNESCO world heritage sites, ride camels and spend the night in the camp or under the stars. It’s also important to note that the Zagora desert is not the orange like the desert you might imagine – this is a stone desert, which has a more moon-like appearance.
Your hotel /Riad in Marrakech

The 2 days Sahara desert adventure begins, your driver will pick you up at 8 am from your Riad and cross through the magical Atlas Mountains and Tizi N Tichka Pass. we will have time to stop and enjoy impressive landscapes and Berber hamlets. Your most vivid memory of your 2 days Sahara Desert trip will be the universal Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou Kasbah as it has been named by UNESCO in 1987 as well as the backdrop to many Hollywood blockbusters and major historical television programs, including Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. If you are a fan of A Game of Thrones you will recognize Ait Ben Haddou from the final scene of series three. After lunch you will travel to the south and cross the second pass which is Tizi N’Tnifift at 1710m and Ait Saoun village, the former route of caravans for Sahara traders coming from “Tombouktou”, you will reach the first administrative center called “Agdez Village” that marks the source of Draa Valley with it’s 6 successive palm groves stating (Mezquita palmary, Fezouata…) and Kasbahs, upon our arrival to Zagora; An hour’s camel ride weaving along the tops of the dunes brings you to your camp, with its Bedouin-style tents and thick Moroccan carpets to keep the sand from between your toes. You’ll probably choose to drift off to sleep while watching the twinkling stars.
If you wake up at first light, take a seat on the sand dunes and watch the sunrise slowly and hang in the dusty summer skies for a moment or two, accompanied by a typical breakfast and then a camel ride to meet your driver on the main road. On our way back we’ll be making stops to enjoy the beautiful views and take tea pleasantly. We arrive in the afternoon at Marrakech. We will drop off you off at your riad where the 2 days desert tour will be coming to an end. We truly hope you enjoyed your trip with our team!
