We will drive through the High Atlas Mountains to enjoy the beautiful landscapes as we cross the Atlas mountains and the pass of Tizi N Tichka, a high winding road at an elevation of 2260m. Pass through Berber villages and green valleys, get into the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At this spectacular location, several movies such as Gladiator, Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara with Penelope Cruz, Games of Thrones have been filmed. Then head to Ouarzazate, on through the “Road of the thousand Kasbahs”- the fascinating “sand castles”.we will continue in our journey to stop at Kalaat Mgouna, “the rose’s city” known for roses and its annual festival during the roses harvest in May before we achieve Dades Valley where it will be the first night of your 4days Marrakech Sahara tour.

Day 2Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - Tinjdad - Erfoud —Merzouga

After breakfast in the hotel, Leave the Dades valley towards Tinghir and the Todra Gorges, the highest oasis valley gorge in Morocco, Watch the panoramic views of the old mud Berber villages overlooking the valley. Get to the Gorge and walk under the 300m high red cliff, where many Rock-climbers come to enjoy their preferred sport. Continue our trip to Erfoud famous for its fossilized marbles, before we head down to Merzouga, where you will meet your camel to Trek through the desert, over the red dunes, until all you see is sand and sky, and the quiet is only broken by the occasional snort of the camels and the soft sound of their steps on the sand. Stop to watch the sunset along the way before arriving at your camp, where you will be welcomed with mint tea and cookies. After some time to admire the sand dunes and the surrounding landscapes, get ready for a Moroccan dinner served under the stars next to the campfire. After dinner, you will gather around the fire to admire a typical Berber music performed using drums under the sky full of stars.

Day 3Merzouga-Errissani –Nekob --Draa Valley—Ouarzazate

It will be a remise not to rise with the sun as it begins its glorious route for another day. If you wake up at first light, take a seat on the sand dunes and watch the sunrise slowly and hang in the dusty summer skies for a moment or two. We will return to a local hotel, where a welcome hot shower and breakfast awaits. then leave for Rissani (once Sijilmassa) – the foundation of the Alaouite dynasty, the current ruling family. With most of the women veiled, and men hooded, this is a very traditional Moroccan town. We’ll continue driving towards Ouarzazate via Alnif, Tazarine, Nkob, and Agdez. We will enjoy the sightseeing of the fascinating Draa Valley which has hundreds of Berber Kasbahs and with its millions of palm trees. then we continue our way to Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa” the town has one of the biggest studios, the homes of the wealthy and powerful, has been the backdrop to many Hollywood blockbusters and major historical television programs, including Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. If you are a fan of A Game of Thrones you will recognize it.

Day 4Ouarzazate –The High Atlas Mountains—Marrakech

After breakfast in the hotel, we can visit Taourirt Kasbah. This former Glaoui residence, situated on the edge of the town, is considered to be one of the most beautiful kasbahs of Morocco. After that, we will drive outside the town to enjoy a private visit of the Atlas Corporation Studio, a well –known cinematographic center renowned for blockbuster productions including Asterix and Cleopatre directed by Alain Chabat; and the Oscar-winning Gladiator, directed by Ridley Scott. Thanks to its amazing landscapes, good infrastructures, friendly people and cheap authorizations.

Then we start our way back to Marrakech across the Atlas Mountains. The winding roads, changing scenery, colorful valleys, shepherds with their flocks, Berber villages high up on the hillsides, make this a picturesque drive. And when we get to Tizi’n Tichka Pass, we’ll be at the highest point in the Atlas Mountains. We can stop for photos and to breathe in some fresh mountain air.
